It has gone towards my accommodation and also text books which were really expensive.
The Letisha and Charlene Education Awards
Do you ever think about going into learning? Have you thought about going back to school? Are you already in education but need financial help? If so, a Letisha & Charlene Education Award could help you.
The Letisha & Charlene Education Awards were established in memory of Charlene Ellis and Letisha Shakespeare, who were the innocent victims of a drive-by shooting in January 2003. The award scheme is a living memorial to the two girls, who were both students attending a local college, and serves to create positive futures for young people and reinvest confidence back in the community.
Since 2006, LCEA has run a highly popular, local educational award scheme entitled the: Letisha and Charlene Education Award. The awards with a value of up to £2,000 are targeted at harder to reach people in Birmingham in need of financial support to help them into education. Eligible costs include: course fees, computer equipment, accommodation fees, textbooks, travel expenses, childcare costs etc.
This year the LCEA are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of awards in the form of a Netbook Computer. We understand that although there are a variety of different needs throughout studying, access to a personal computer can be of enormous help.
If you feel that you are eligible for an award, and that your education would benefit from owning a Netbook computer: why not apply for a Letisha and Charlene Education Award!
