The award has helped me greatly. I am sure that I would have incurred some debt if it weren't for the award, despite being careful with my finances.
The Letisha and Charlene Education Awards
Do you ever think about going into learning? Have you thought about going back to school? Are you already in education but need financial help? If so, a Letisha & Charlene Education Award could help you.
The Letisha & Charlene Education Awards were established in memory of Charlene Ellis and Letisha Shakespeare, who were the innocent victims of a drive-by shooting in January 2003. The award scheme is a living memorial to the two girls, who were both students attending a local college, and serves to create positive futures for young people and reinvest confidence back in the community.
Since 2006, LCEA has run a highly popular, local educational award scheme entitled the: Letisha and Charlene Education Award. The awards are targeted at harder to reach people in Birmingham in need of financial support to help them into education. Eligible costs include: course fees, computer equipment, accommodation fees, textbooks, travel expenses, childcare costs etc.
